 Additional Notes Recent advances in radiocarbon dating technology and the re-dating of the remains of Woolly Mammoth excavated at Condover in Shropshire has resulted in the understanding that Woolly Mammoth were present in Britain as recently as 14000 years ago. Previously Woolly Mammoth were considered to have become extinct at the peak of the Late Glacial, some 21000yrs ago.
